What is a financial aid award?

When will I receive my financial aid award?

Financial aid awards are offered after your financial aid application and all required documents have been reviewed and processed. Awarding timelines may vary depending on when you submit your application, complete your financial aid file, and register for classes.

What is a financial aid disbursement?

A financial aid disbursement occurs when approved financial aid funds are released and applied to your student account to pay for tuition, fees, housing, and other eligible educational expenses.

 

When is financial aid disbursed? 

Most financial aid is disbursed in multiple payments throughout the semester rather than all at once. Disbursement dates may vary depending on your enrollment status, class start dates, and completion of all financial aid requirements. Students enrolled in late-start classes may experience delays in receiving their aid.

What is a financial aid refund?

When your financial aid is disbursed, the funds are first applied to any outstanding charges on your student account. If there are any remaining funds after those charges are paid, the balance will be issued to you as a refund. 

 

What is my refund amount? 

Your refund amount depends on your total aid and account balance. 

Example: If your financial aid is $3,000 and your tuition and fees total $2,000, you may receive a $1,000 refund.
