What type of student are you?

New & Returning Student

You have never taken classes at GCC, or you are returning to GCC after 2 consecutive regular semesters. (Spring and Fall).

Incoming Transfer Student

You have completed credit courses at other universities or colleges (s).

High School Student

You are taking GCC classes while still in high school.

International Student

You are studying at GCC with a F-1 Visa.

Noncredit Student

You are taking free, noncredit classes through Continuing Education.

 

Frequently Asked Questions

CCCapply ID.me Verification: California Community Colleges works with ID.me to verify the identity of students who apply to California community colleges using CCCapply. This streamlines and secures both the admissions and financial aid process while also safeguarding student information. 

Choosing "verify later" or opting out of ID.me could delay the verification process. Speed up enrollment, verify your identity with ID.me during the time of application. 

 Resources: 

  • If you have never attended Glendale Community College.
  • If you are a returning student who has not applied or enrolled during the spring semester.
  • Continuing students do not have to apply for admission if they attended spring semester.
  • Former Jump Start Students (Attending GCC and enrolled as a High School Student at the same time) who have GRADUATED must reapply to GCC and self-report that they have graduated. 

The District shall admit students who meet one of the following requirements:

  • Any person over the age of 18;
  • Any person possessing a high school diploma or its equivalent;
  • Any person who is an apprentice as defined in Section 3077 of the Labor Code; and,
  • Any under-age person who is able to demonstrate his/her ability to benefit from advanced scholastic or vocational work and who meets specified admissions and enrollment criteria per Education Code, Administrative Regulations, and District regulations and procedures.

  • Prerequisites are not automatically cleared. Email Counseling an unofficial transcript and/or your College Board AP Test Report with the completed form below to clear the prerequisite(s):

New Student Counseling for Four-year Student/Graduate

After submitting your admission application, you will receive a Welcome to GCC email within 24 hours! The email will include your GCC ID number along with our enrollment steps.

NEW & RETURNING STUDENTS
First time college student or students who have been away from college for more than one year.
Returning to GCC if you did not enroll in Spring semester.

INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS
Attend GCC on F1-Visa.

HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS
Attend GCC while in high school.

CONTINUING EDUCATION
Noncredit classes on the Garfield Campus.
