All students who are enrolled in at least 3 credit units for Fall 2026 at GCC are welcome to apply. Unlike other internships, Team Internships have no prerequisite course requirements, and no prior experience is necessary. This is an opportunity for you to experience work-based learning in which you'll function as part of a team in a professional setting, engage in design thinking, and learn how to summarize and communicate your ideas. The ideal intern candidate is someone who is eager to learn, can commit to the entire 10-week program, will show up to every session on-time, and ready to work with a team of peers to solve a real problem that a real business is facing.

To apply for Fall 2026 semester, fill out the application.

If you are selected as an intern, you will be required to attend all TEN internship sessions, starting in March for orientation and ending in May with final presentations (specific start and end dates depend on which cohort you join). Each internship session is 3 hours and 20 minutes, held at the same time each week, in-person at GCC, for ten weeks. There is not an option to participate virtually.

Yes! In addition to picking up skills that can be highlighted on your résumé and transfer application, you will get a stipend. If accepted to the Team Internship Program, you will be paid a stipend of up to $100 for your participation in the entire 10-week program. Your stipend will be calculated based on degree of participation. If you complete all assignments, the maximum stipend possible is $100.

You are required to fully participate in all class sessions and assignments. You cannot arrive late or leave early. If for any unforeseen circumstance you must miss one of the weekly meetings, your stipend will be reduced accordingly.

Employment Status: Since this is not a job, you will not be hired as a student worker employed by the college. Instead, you will receive a check upon completion of the program (please allow up to four weeks for processing).

Financial Aid: If you have questions about any potential effect of income from internship participation on your financial aid package, please consult the Financial Aid Office.

Past due accounts: Please note that if you have outstanding debt to the college, you will not receive a stipend payment. Rather, the amount of your stipend will be applied toward your debt until your debt is fully paid.

In addition to getting paid and earning college credit, you will gain valuable experience that will help you develop academic and career-transferable skills such as:

  • Interacting with a client
  • Problem solving
  • Critical thinking
  • Design thinking
  • Team-building
  • Interpersonal communication
  • Public presentation

You will participate in a resume workshop during the program that will help you enhance (or create) your resume and learn how to include the internship to best advantage on your newly designed resume. As an intern, you will also be eligible for a one-on-one resume critique with a career counselor.

You'll also get the chance to learn about our business partner and the careers that are available within that industry. You'll meet potential future employers and be able to network with them.
