Financial Planning & Investment II

The Financial Planning and Investment Certificate program is tailored for individuals interested in the business side of financial planning and investments. Students will grasp finance terminology and articulate themselves analytically, employing concepts such as time value of money, liquidity analysis, profitability analysis, and equity management. They will also learn to utilize investing tools to assess investment suitability and craft a personal income statement and balance sheet to best prepare them for various careers in finance.

The Certificate is granted to students who have completed the requisite units outlined in the major requirements with at least 6 semester units of the required courses at Glendale Community College. All courses must be completed with a grade of “C” or better, or a “P” grade.

Program Learning Outcomes: Upon completion of this program, students will be able to understand the terminology of finance and express themselves analytically using time value of money concepts, liquidity analysis, profitability analysis, and equity management concepts; be able to apply the tools of investing to determine the appropriateness of an investment; and be able to develop and prepare a personal income statement and balance sheet.
