Baja Program Application Information

Dear Prospective Student,

Thank you for your interest in the Baja California Field Studies Program. You are about to embark on one of the most unique college-level academic field experiences.

Following is the application package, which you must complete in order to participate in our program. Please make sure to complete all pages (if handwritten, please write legibly). This application is also available online as a fillable pdf.

When submitting your application, you must include a non-refundable $100.00 application deposit (make checks payable to: Glendale Community College). This fee will be deducted from the listed cost of the session (courses) that you are planning to attend. You can drop off the application at our office in BV109 or turn it in directly to Academic Co-Director of the Baja Program (Dr. Amber Bratcher-Covino BV226). In addition, you can send your application as a pdf document to baja@glendale.edu. If you prefer, you can mail the completed package and payment to:

Once the application is received, you will have to arrange a short interview with Academic Co-Director of the Baja Program (Dr. Amber Bratcher-Covino abratchercovino@glendale.edu), so we can meet you and clarify any questions you may have.

Students with or in need of disability accommodations are responsible for making arrangements through Disabled Student Programs & Services (DSPS) in a timely manner. Before submitting a Baja Program application, please be sure to discuss your accommodation needs and intent to participate with your DSPS Counselor or Specialist. Given the remote nature of the Baja Field Station and the physical rigors of the program, an approval letter or clearance from a healthcare provider may be requested.

Applications for summer courses are due by May 1.
Applications for winter courses are due by November 15.

To save a completed application, select Save As, assign a name to the completed pdf, to your local drive.

Please be aware that we have limited scholarship funding & require proof of financial assistance.

NEW OR RETURNING STUDENTS
If you are not a continuing student at Glendale Community College, you must also complete the Glendale Community College's "Application for Admissions". You can do that online by submitting a Glendale Community College Online Application.

HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS
If you are a high school student, please go to the High School Students page and apply to the College so you can eventually register for our classes. Do this early since the process requires some paperwork signatures from your high school.
