EOPS DROP-IN COUNSELING
EOPS offers virtual drop-in counseling weekly through Zoom and Phone.
NOTE: Drop-in counseling is not an appointment. It is offered on a first come, first served
basis, and may require waiting in an online queue to talk to a counselor. We have
limited drop-in counselling available per day. If there are more students than we
serve that day, the EOPS staff will invite you to come back during future drop-in
hours. When no drop-in counseling is available the “Drop-in” icon will be grayed out. Please check the EOPS home page for the most up to date drop-in counseling schedule.
To access EOPS Zoom and Phone Drop-in Counseling, follow the instructions below:
- Click on the EOPS Drop-in counseling link here
- Enter your GCC Student ID# and Birth Date (MMDDYYYY)
- Read and accept the Informed Consent Statement, then “Sign In”
- After you sign-in, select the blue icon for “Drop-in”. You will be required to:
- Select the reason for your appointment
- Provide a contact phone number and email address
- Choose an appointment type: Phone or Zoom counseling session
- Click on “Continue”
- You will then be re-directed to an EOPS Online Drop-in Waiting Room. You are required to stay in the waiting room for a counselor to invite you to your meeting. Please
know that there may be students waiting ahead of you. Once the counselor is ready
to meet with you, the waiting room page will be updated, showing the name of the counselor
that will see you.
- After the counselor’s name is displayed on the screen, in about 30 seconds you will
see a Zoom link on the waiting room page for you to click on and connect with a counselor.
At the same time, you will also receive that link through your student email.
Please note, if you do not connect with a counselor after you have been invited to
the Zoom session, the meeting will be dismissed in a couple few minutes, and you will
have to login again and wait for your turn.
-
If you request a phone meeting, the counselor will call you at the phone number you
have provided.
Please note, the counselor’s call will be displayed as a GCC call. If you do not pick
up the call, your meeting will be dismissed, and you will have to login again and
wait for your turn, if drop-in is still available, or come back another day for drop-in
counseling
The following topics can be discussed during drop-in counseling:
- Problems with Registration (i.e., Prerequisite Clearance)
- Problems with Current Courses
- Tutoring Referral
- Study List for Next Term
- Petitions (i.e., Count the Higher Grade)
- Transfer Questions
- Quick Questions (i.e., Deadlines)

NOTE: You will have a maximum of 15 minutes for a drop-in counseling session. If you need
to get help with items not listed above, or if you need more than 15 minutes, please
complete the EOPS Counseling Appointment Request Form to schedule an appointment.
TECHNICAL ISSUES: If you encounter technical problems during drop-in counseling, you may connect with
