Edgar Zardaryan

Hello! My name is Edgar Zardaryan, and I’m proud to be part of the Noncredit ESL for Work Program at Glendale Community College. My journey into language and education has been deeply personal. I’ve studied Spanish, Japanese, and Russian—both in academic settings and through real-life immersion—so I truly understand the challenges and triumphs of learning a new language. This personal experience allows me to connect authentically with my students.

My teaching philosophy is rooted in connection, equity, and empowerment. I believe language is more than grammar and vocabulary—it's about confidence, community, and self-expression. That’s why I use real-world, student-centered approaches like open-note testing and task-based learning to reduce anxiety and build metacognitive skills. Whether we’re learning how to write a professional email, exploring the impact of accents and identity, or playing a quick round of Kahoot, my goal is to make language learning meaningful and joyful.

When I’m not teaching, you might find me playing chess, swimming with the Rose Bowl Masters Team, experimenting in the kitchen, or enjoying a good foreign film. I’m excited to continue supporting our students on their educational journeys and to be part of a college community that celebrates growth, resilience, and diversity.
