Rob Liddiard is from Orem, Utah. He attended Brigham Young University and while there received a BA is French literature and an MA in Language Acquisition. From age 19-21 he lived in French-speaking Belgium and northern France. From Utah, Rob moved to Seattle, WA where he pursued and earned a PhD in Romance Linguistics at the University of Washington. He began his professional teaching career as a full-time French faculty member at U.C.L.A. After three years there, budget cuts brought about a change, so for the last 23 years, Rob has taught French, English, and Linguistics at four communities colleges in the area. Twenty-one of those years has been teaching those three subjects at Glendale College.

Rob’s Tuesday/Thursday evening French class is one of the most important parts of his entire life. It has been a joy combing two loves into one: teaching and anything French. The fun, relationships, learning, and joy from this evening GCC French classroom experience will be everlasting.

Outside interests include tennis (Go Roger Federer!), gardening, and any kind of theater outing. He enjoys bringing his life’s experiences into the classroom and taking his classroom experiences into his life.
