Hi there! I’m Edith Azizian, a full-time EOPS counselor at GCC, and I have the privilege of guiding and supporting students to achieve their academic and career goals. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Deaf Studies and Deaf Education from CSUN, and a Master’s degree in Educational Psychology and Counseling with an emphasis in college counseling and student services, along with a graduate certificate in career counseling and education. I’m also a certified career counselor, and I’ve been working as an academic and career counselor at GCC for nearly 20 years!

Before joining GCC, I had the opportunity to work at the National Center on Deafness at CSUN, where I gained valuable experience supporting students. I started my journey at GCC as a graduate intern, which gave me the chance to develop my skills and passion for helping students succeed.

What I find most rewarding about my role is helping students discover their true potential and guiding them toward careers that inspire them. I’m passionate about supporting students on their journey, and I truly believe that the greatest gift in education is the opportunity to learn from my students. They constantly motivate me to be the best version of myself.

When I’m not counseling, you can find me enjoying the great outdoors—whether it’s playing tennis, hiking, or ping pong. I’m also a huge dog lover—some might even call me a "dog whisperer." I have a deep passion for fashion, the arts, and anything related to cosmetology. Traveling, bike riding, going to concerts, and, most importantly, attending comedy shows are some of my favorite ways to spend my free time.

Looking forward to meeting you and supporting you on your journey at GCC!
