Specialized Skills Classes

These classes (Avancemos) are designed to provide a welcoming and low-stress environment for English learners from Spanish speaking countries. We focus on life skills and vocational English to live and work in the USA.

All students are part of Glendale Community College and have the opportunity to take advantage of many options, including: basic skills courses, preparation for high school diploma or high school equivalency tests (GED/HiSET), computer classes, certificate programs, and academic studies.

English for Work courses prepare students with the language skills they need to pursue a new career or expand their current job skills.

Take College Prep ESL classes for free and get prepared for credit classes! All classes meet in person at GCC's Verdugo Campus. College Prep students can enjoy a pleasant student lounge and easy access to Verdugo activities.

We have different learning options for Citizenship classes.
