Welcome! My name is Jacqueline and I am so happy to be a Noncredit ESL instructor here at beautiful GCC. Nice to meet you!

I have been working as an ESL instructor since 2016 in various capacities, and I truly love being involved in everything TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages).

In terms of education, I graduated with my Master of Arts in Teaching – Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) from the University of Southern California in 2020, and a few years before that, I got my B.A. in Cultural Anthropology from the University of California, Santa Barbara.

I am passionate about anything that has to do with advancing the field of TESOL for the overarching purpose of creating the best learning experience for our emergent multilingual students. I have had the privilege of working with wonderful language-learning students from all sorts of different backgrounds and with a variety of unique goals—from recently immigrated high school students to international graduate students to refugee students—in-person and online, and in and outside of the U.S.

My dream is to empower my students by remaining firmly committed to equitable teaching practices, in tandem with upholding high language education standards. Besides teaching and learning with my wonderful students and colleagues, I also love hiking with my dog Wolfgang, baking/cake decorating, and attending live music events!
