Biography:

Lauren Lampietti has been part of Glendale Community College’s IT leadership team since 2018. He first joined as Director of Network Systems and Support Services and now serves as Senior Director of Information Technology Services and Chief Information Security Officer. In this role, he oversees all aspects of the district’s IT operations, from network systems and cybersecurity to help desk support, computer and VR labs, and cloud infrastructure, ensuring students, faculty, and staff have secure, reliable technology at their fingertips.

Before coming to GCC, Lauren spent a decade at Loyola High School of Los Angeles, where he served as Chief Technology Officer and Vice President of Technology. Earlier in his career, he worked as a Systems Administrator with Electronic Data Systems (EDS), supporting the Navy Marine Corps Intranet (NMCI) project.

His passion for education and service runs deep. Lauren has served on the consultative board at St. Gregory the Great Catholic School in Whittier, CA, helping to advance the school’s mission. As a former Navy Seabee, he brings a “Can Do” attitude and a strong sense of duty to everything he does—especially in the field of cybersecurity. That same commitment inspired him to write Securing Our Schools: Essential Cybersecurity Practices for Educators, a practical guide to helping schools stay safe online.

Outside of work, Lauren enjoys READING, learning French, and recently picked up the cello. Naturally curious and driven, he’s always looking for new ways to challenge himself, grow, and make a positive impact.
