I've been a full-time faculty member in Noncredit ESL since 2003, and I'm devoted to helping all of our students reach their personal, career, and academic goals.

I received my B.A. in English and history from the University of Minnesota, and my M.A. in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) from California State University, Los Angeles. Before I started working at GCC, I taught English in Minnesota, Spain, France, and Mexico.

During my time at GCC, I've taught most levels and courses, and I've served as division chair, assistant division chair, Avancemos program coordinator, Family Literacy (CBET) program coordinator, Noncredit ESL Professional Development coordinator, and College Prep ESL coordinator. I founded Garfield Service Learning, a volunteer group so ESL students can go into the community and help others. I also founded and now direct the ESL Learning Café, a tutoring center where students can practice English and receive help with their classes.

In my free time, I love cycling, going out with my friends, and spending time with my family. I like exploring the beaches up and down the California coast and going to theaters, museums, and parks in the LA area.
